IRDIS’ initiatives include documentation and research projects to preserve and bring to focus the cultural heritage and the rich indigenous knowledge of the ethnic people of Assam as well as to empower them. Such initiatives will not only have a psychological impact at boosting the self esteem of the communities but will also go a long way in bringing to light the indigenous ways of dealing with health, environment,self-governance, education, social values and principles.
